Comment Bingo Round 5 Sign-Ups!
Welcome to
comment_bingo, where the goal is to have more fun and have an excuse to leave feedback! It is a Bingo community that involves commenting on other people's works based on the prompts provided, rather than creating your own.
If you haven't claimed your Round 4 banner, please go here.
This is the sign-up post to get a bingo card for the fifth round of Comment Bingo. Please leave the username(s) that you will be using to comment and you will be assigned a card. You don't need a Dreamwidth account to participate. If you want more details (including opt out rules), the following links should hopefully clear things up.
There is also a 'question' thread in the comments that you can reply to for any lingering doubts or queries.
It was inspired by the Comment Bingo that
cap_ironman has been running for a few years, but on a more general fandom basis, which was thought up by
muccamukk during the
snowflake_challenge.
We all know how good comments can make a creator feel, and even a 'this is great' can sometimes brighten their day. Whether you're a newbie or been in fandom for years, don't comment at all, sometimes comment, or comment all the time, this is for you. Maybe it will help you discover stories you wouldn't have otherwise, ones that you loved and forgot about and/or fics you somehow missed. Forgot to leave a comment before? Want a reason to comment again? Now is the time!
comment_bingo is a low pressure, low commitment comm. There aren't any consequences to not finishing your card so if you don't complete the challenge in time, you are more than welcome to sign up again (and you don't need to let me know that you didn't finish/provide any explanations). If you finish your card/get any type of bingo, and want another one, you can do that as well.

Questions?
Re: Questions?
(Anonymous) 2024-01-25 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)If I'm understanding the rules correctly, I can swap prompts around in my card willy-nilly, and add new ones, yes? In which case, I don't want to bother you with specific requests...thank you!

Re: Questions?
Just so you know for the future, the 'question' thread is just for questions about the challenge. You can just leave a comment on the post itself to request a card.
Re: Questions?
Thank you!
Re: Questions?
For future reference, this thread is just meant to be for questions about the challenge. You can leave your card request as its own comment. :)

Re: Questions?
I had a couple of suggestions for challenges, if you're collecting more?
Re: Questions?
Of course, I'm always open to suggestions!
Re: Questions?
Just two questions:
- works inspired by art = can this be something based on a movie screenshot (for example) ?
- If I re-read an old story, I have already commented on years ago, but I leave a new comment now, would this count?
Re: Questions?
To answer your questions:
1) Yes, the interpretation is up to you!
2) Yes, that would count.

Re: Questions?
(Anonymous) 2024-02-02 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)It says that for intersecting bingos, we have to comment on several works for the same square in the square that intersects (so each work can only be used for one bingo). This is clear, no problems with that.
My question was, if we want to do a blackout, how does that work? Do we need to double (or even triple or quadruple) each box to get a blackout? Or if it's a blackout we need to only fill each square once?
I am a frequent commenter in general, so it's not like i will be lacking in comments anyway, I just wanted to know because I am making my spreadsheet (to keep links, work names, filled squares, etc, in order), and wanted to know if I should account for making space to fill several squares more than once (since I plan to do a blackout).
So yeah, basically how does making a blackout work.
Thank you for your help, and thanks for running this event, I love it! (I already got a card btw, I know I'm on anon bc I don't have a dw account, but I already got one!)

I only read for one fandom and only on ao3, so I’d like to opt out of leaving comments outside of ao3 or comments on fandoms that aired/released during x timeframe.
I’d also like to opt out of Genre/Category, Medium-Specific (except “a fic you read often” or “fancomic”) and By Collection/Challenge
And I have a question: I am able to post the masterlist of fics I’ve read on tumblr, correct? Then I comment here with a link?
Re: Questions?
First, to answer your question, you can post your masterlist of fics you've read on tumblr but there's no need to comment here with a link. People are welcome to make their own post on the community, but if you don't have a DW account (and it isn't necessary to have one to sign up), you can just come back and link it toward the end of the round when I put up post to claim a prize banner.
Here's your card:
